Week 1 - Blog Posting #1 - Web 2.0

I love the thought of internet and the reality of Web 2.0! Web 2.0 has made so many struggles easier, distances shorter, prices lower, and possibilities endless. Just yesterday I introduced Google Docs to 4 teachers at my school. We are using the Google Docs to develop our Professional Learning Community collaboration meetings. I sent an invite to our principal and he has access and is able to see our active progress. The other teachers were really pleased with the fact that we don’t have to send emails back and fourth changing one thing then sending it to the next person. It is much easier to use Web 2.0 technology. I would have to admit that when I began this program I really couldn’t explain what a web 2.0 program really is. I guess in the last 3 months I have learned more what Web 2.0 is but this class, the videos and reading have really helped me understand Web 2.0 technology and its uses.

It is very interesting how so individuals are very receptive to using Web 2.0 tools and realize that they make everyday tasks so much easier, but that there are some people who wont budge or take the wax out of their ears to even listen to a new idea. I know that people, and myself, get bombarded with Web 2.0 ideas but some of the resources are so useful!

It seems that life has become a bit easier because of the various ways communication takes place. Blogs, wikis, Facebook, email, and Google Docs all have allowed communication to take place on a different level than face to face. Many argue the pros and cons of this communication but regardless communication is taking place in a variety of ways and taking place much more often.
